Over 100 selected works from “Geely Cup 2015 Amazing China Mobile Phone Photo Contest”, were demonstrated on Sunday as aeropaintings on 50 London taxis, and will be shown on commercial screens in the city’s most busy tube stations on Monday.

Launched in London’s China Town, the one-month displaying of China’s greatest views has been listed as one of key sections of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the UK between October 19 and 23.

The launching ceremony was attended by Madame Hu Pinghua, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to the UK Liu Xiaoming, and Lord Bates, member of the House of Lords, Minister of State at the Home Office.

Mostly sponsored by Geely, China's international auto manufacturing company, the contest was launched in August in Beijing, with a view to showing the beauty of China to the world through the lens of a mobile phone, and was a part of the China-UK Year of Cultural Exchange.

It was also organized by China Daily, supported by the cultural branch of Chinese Embassy in Britain and curated by Chinalink London.

Jury members of the contest include Wang Wenlan, deputy chairman of China Photography Association, Michael Pritchard, director general of the British Royal Photographic Society, Colin Sheaf, head of Asian art at Bonhams Auctions, and Yang Xueliang, Public Relation Director of Geely.

Speaking of the contest, Yang said that Geely hopes that the contest will help more people to appreciate the beautiful scenery, its people and culture in China.
