Luohan Temple's 108 "earthquake babies"

The May 12 Wenchuan earthquake in 2008 destroyed Shifang Maternal & Child Health Care Hospital. The doctors had to relocate the pregnant women and new mothers at Luohan Temple, which was located opposite the hospital.
Over the following three months, 108 babies were born there, and they were called "Luohan babies". Su Quan monk, who is the master of this thousand-year-old temple, led the monks and provided shelter not only to pregnant women and mothers, but to anyone who needed a place to stay. By May 15, they had more than 2,400 victims living there.
Master Su feels he is the one who should be grateful. Why? Fate, he said, brought these babies to his temple. And those babies brought him hope and joy.
