The aircraft used by Chinese President Xi Jinping for his visit in the US will be shared by common passengers after the tour.

China does not have a plane dedicated to the head of state. Currently, most jets that carry Chinese leaders on foreign trips are mobilized after they undergo temporary modifications. The procedure for converting a commercial plane into a presidential jet are simple, given that only a few facilities and certain equipment need to be installed.

The Air China BOEING 747 jet rented by the Chinese central government to take President Xi Jinping to the United States definitely cannot compare with Air Force One but the approach is more economical.

Air China is the only flight service supplier to Chinese leaders, with at least three of the carrier's jets having been used by them. The airline is responsible for the aircraft's maintenance and repairs.
