2015 marks the 150th anniversary of Jean Sibelius the famous Finnish composer. On May 6, the violinist and pianist from the Lahti Symphony Orchestra of Finland performed two of Sibelius' work at the Finnish ambassador's residency in front of a small audience: Romance in F Major and Rondino.

Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer of the late Romantic period. His music played an important role in the formation of the Finnish national identity.

The core of Sibelius' oeuvre is his set of seven symphonies. Like Beethoven, Sibelius used each successive work to further develop his own personal compositional style. His works continue to be performed frequently in the concert hall and are often recorded.

The Lahti Symphony Orchestra will start its China Tour to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Jean Sibelius from May 7,cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin and Hangzhou.
