African school gets a new life

In just four weeks, a brand new silver color light-steel school building was built up to rescue Nairobi children from overcrowded classrooms.
The building is phase two of a project organized by Mcedo-Beijing School that was designed by the Architecture Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and sponsored by the Kenya-China Economic and Trade Association.
Being environmentally friendly, the pre-fabricated structure takes into account the Mathare Valley slum's limitations such as erratic electricity.
A full report on the school and the people who devoted their time and passion into the project will be published in the China Daily newspaper on Nov. 21.
