More than 300 job seekers swarmed into the Kempinski Hotel Beijing on Saturday as the 2014 Career Day provided many applicants a chance for a new position.

All manner of jobs were on offer: from junior to executive levels and covering the Chinese mainland, Mongolia, and even such faraway places as Germany and Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.

Among the many perks offered by the one-day event, was the opportunity for some applicants to meet with general managers face to face.

According to the China National Tourism Administration, China accounts for the greatest number of outbound international tourists and the most overseas spending of any nation in the world.

As more Chinese go abroad to travel and do business, local hotels and businesses around the globe are recruiting Chinese staff to accommodate the influx.

Organizers of Career Day in China, now in its third year, believe the quality of applicants is getting better all the time.

Those looking to attend a Career Day should brush up on their English-language skills and bring an open mind. In fact, many of the organizers and managers on hand are happy to give advice about starting a new career.
